Competencia Robótica UTFSM : History
The group "Centro de Robótica UTFSM" (Robotics Center) helds its "Competencia Robótica UTFSM" (Robotics Competition) each year.
This event brings together competitors from different universities and schools from Chile. Its a test for their abilities to solve a challenge of artificial inteligence.
Last year, over 10 team were brought together, over 2000 spectators attended to the competition and the event was covered in various media.
This year, the 7th version of this event will be replaced by the 8th Latin American Robotics Competition (LARC 2009).
Previous "Competencia Robótica UTFSM":
2008) Taxi Robots. Two robots has to complete a route discovered while navigating in the shortest time.
2007) Cargo Space II : The robot must find and extract as many cylinders it can from a maze.
2006) Cargo Space I: The robot must remove as many hubs it can from the maze, only pushing.
2005) Rescue Mission: A vehicle must descend an irregular slope in the shortest time without throwing the spheres it carries in its top.
2004) Maya Pyramid: A vehicle must move up by a square spiral in the shortest time and deposit a sphere at the summit. (III IEEE Chilean Robotics Competition)
2003) Figures: A robot must move blocks in a grid to form the indicated figure in the shortest time.
